Takase-Gawa (Takase river)

Takase-gawa is a small canal in Kyoto. It was opened up by big business owner in 1611. The river connected central Kyoto with Fushimi area and was used as a canal. More than 300 years, this canal was used as an important way of distribution.
Takase-gawa was sometimes used for the stage of a masterpiece novels thanks to its atmosphere.
Now is not canal, only beautiful river with cherry blossom.

Gojo-Ohashi (Gojo Ohashi Bridge)

Gojo-Ohashi is called the first meeting site of Ushiwakamaru (Minamoto no Yoshitsune) with Benkei. About 1000 years ago, Yoshitsune in childhood beat in Benkei. He was 8 years older than Yoshitsune. After then, they has trained together.
Yoshitsune is very famous Japanese general and great atrategist of cavalry battle.

Gojo Rakuen Kaburenjo
Kaburenjyo (Japanese traditionel style theater)

This theater was built in 1915 as the theater for Gojo Geisya girl. It was the brilliant place where a geisha competed for their performance like a dance and music. But After this area's red line was abolished, this theater has been deserted. Basically, commoner cannot use the Kaburenjyo. However, Gojo rakuen Kaburenjyo office began to rental service for common people to revitalization the theater. Now, Kaburenjyo is used by a lot of event such as vanguard drama and Costume Player's party.

They established as Japanese cards (Hanafuda) maker in 1889 at Gojo area. The establishment building is keeping in this place and you can see an appearance.
